Jeffrey Miller is entering his seventh year at Marist School where he teaches the Advanced Logic & Debate, Research Methods, and Public Speaking courses. Prior to coaching and teaching at Marist, Jeffrey coached at Fayette County High School for five years. Jeffrey has coached sixteen State Champions, twelve while here at Marist School. During his tenure, Marist has qualified 43 students to the National Speech & Debate Association National Championship, 25 students to the National Catholic Forensic League National Championship, and 15 students to the Tournament of Champions. Jeffrey is the recipient of the 2011 GFCA Peach Fuzz Coaching Award, 2012 GFCA Coach of the Year, the 2013 NDCA Rising Star Award and the 2015 National Distinguished Service Award. Jeffrey also serves as a co-chair for the National Public Forum Topic Wording Committee.
Ms. Abby Schirmer
Abby Schirmer is entering her third year at Marist School where she teaches Advanced Logic & Debate, Research Methods and World History courses. Prior to coaching and teaching at Marist, Abby coached at Stratford Academy for seven years. Abby has coached six State Champions and coached the winner of the Baker Award (given to the top Policy Debate team in the nation) twice. During her tenure at Stratford, her policy teams won the Emory, MBA, Harvard and St. Marks and reached semifinals at the Tournament of Champions. Abby is the recipient of the 2011 NDCA Rising Star Award. While at Marist, her teams have reached elimination rounds at the University of Georgia, Greenhill, University of Michigan, Chattahoochee, Samford University, Cypress Bay and Isidore Newman tournaments. Abby also serves on the National Speech & Debate Association Policy Debate Curriculum Writing Committee.
